Elspinhope is a single level Detached Cottage with a high standard of comfort and facilities. Beautiful views from every window looking out over the surrounding hills and burn (SSSI). You don\'t need to leave the cottage to enjoy the landscape or to relax away from it all. Watch Red Squirrels on our Trail Camera or if you\'re lucky through the window. The cottage with it\'s own enclosed garden ground & woodland is located on Cossarshill Farm, a working 1,400 acre hill sheep farm by Ettrick Water. The Cossarshill burn runs by the cottage where you can enjoy sitting by the rocky pools & waterfall, swim in summer & watch Atlantic Salmon in autumn. Spot wild flowers & rare butterflies in the woodland by the cottage & around the farm. Try Wild Swimming in a pool by the cottage. The Scottish Borders is very popular with cyclists, several important races have taken / take place in the area, including The Tour of Britain & The Tour of the Borders. Wonderful for hill walking, bird watching, wildlife, fishing, cycling, golf & mountain biking. Electric mountain bikes for hire locally. Track your ancestors or simply chill out & relax in complete peace. Go Touring, take a pleasant drive to all the historic Border towns, Stately homes & Castles, Selkirk, Melrose, Moffat, St Mary\'s Loch, Eskdalemuir, Samye Ling Tibetan Centre & the Ancient Standing Stones. Close to Ettrick Marshes Floodplain restoration project also Ettrick Kirk and the Birthplace / Grave of James Hogg \'The Ettrick Shepherd\' a renowned Scottish writer. Edinburgh 44 miles via Peebles, Carlisle 45 miles via Langholm make an easy day out. One very well behaved dog by arrangement. Please contact the owner for more information & cost.
